Does Your Water System Need Repairs?

There are many types of water systems and filtration systems, but they have one characteristic that unifies them: At some time or another, they need to be repaired or replaced. To prevent your system from breaking down, you should be aware of the various warning signs and have your system inspected on a regular basis.

Water filtration systems are adept at keeping your water pure, but they begin to decrease in effectiveness when not repaired or replaced. As various contaminants pass through the system, some of them adhere to the filter. Over time the contaminants build up, and your filter no longer allows materials to pass through. The pores on your filter become so clogged that eventually water is even blocked. When water can’t pass through, they cease to function.

There are multiple signs of water system failure. One of the most common is decreased water flow, which signifies a drastic accumulation of contaminants. Another sign – one not so easily detected – is decreased water purity. It is important to have your filtration system inspected and repaired regularly because you may not realize how unsafe your water supply has become. Other signs of water system damage include corrosion of plumbing appliances and fixtures, stains due to corrosion, and peculiar water taste or odor.

The lifespan of a water filter depends on the type of model you own. Filtration systems possess a service cycle, which is the amount of time they last before deteriorating. You should be aware of your own system’s service cycle and obtain a new system after a particular period of time. If you are unsure whether your system needs to be replaced, contact us and we can inspect your unit and make the necessary repairs or replacements.
