Water softener systems can be one of the best investments in your home. Not only will these softeners help with your overall water quality, but they will also help bring new life into your hair, as hard water is horrible for hair care. We have installed thousands of water softening systems and can work with you to find a solution for your home. Whether you are using a well or a rural water supply, our team can install a water softener that will work from the get-go.

How water softeners work

Water softeners have been around for generations, and although they have gotten better over the years, the same principles still apply. A softener system will see the hard water enter the system and go over resin beads to remove the complex compounds. The resin beads use a salt brine to wash away the hard compounds and flush them out of the system. The main tank will draw from the brine tank every 4-6 days to keep operating at its peak, depending on the hardness of your water. Our water softener units contain all the necessary equipment, including the resin-filled tank, distributor tube, control valve and separate salt brine tank.

Why install a water softener

Water softeners are a common appliance in most rural homes. Hard water is called hard because it contains excess calcium and magnesium. These compounds are found in nature and will seep into underground wells through the years. Hard water has no known adverse health effects, but it is a pain for general cleanliness and hair care. Due to the extra compounds, you can notice increased white-scale buildup on everything from surfaces to cutlery. In addition, hard water is known to dull hair, which makes for a challenging hair care routine.

Maintenance of a water softener system

One of the best things about a water softening system is that you are not dealing with a complex system to maintain. The system will not require yearly or semi-annual checks. Instead, your only job as a homeowner will be to ensure there is enough salt in the brine tank to do its job. Most homes add salt to the brine tank every 3-4 months.
